Willie McRae, Jr. was born July 11, 1967 in Harlem, New York. The son of Bishop Willie McRae, Sr. and First Lady Launa Woodard McRae. The grandson of the late Anthony and Viola Woodard and Mr. & Mrs. Joe McRae. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1984 where he was known as "Little Willie" and his name followed him throughout his entire life. Little Willie was a very unique person and a jack of all trades. During his life he had multiple jobs. Willie worked side by side with his father at the limousine business as a chauffeur, he then moved on to becoming a security officer in his community, but one of his passions was becoming a school resource officer. He worked multiple schools in the Mount Vernon district.
Little Willie always had a big heart for helping people. One of his favorite hobbies growing up was fishing. He always looked forward to the annual Boys and Girls Club fishing trip with his father and brother. One of his favorite pastimes was heading down south where his parents are from to spend time with family fishing and hunting. Willie had planned on moving down south and one day purchase a house with a fishing pond. There are a lots of good memories to remember him by such as, being in several music videos of Heavy D, always being the life of the party, always having a smile on his face, and making people laugh. Some of the best times Willie spent was with his friends and family was on 2 California Road.
Willie leaves a legacy of love and special memories. He's survived by his parents Bishop Willie Joe McRae, Sr. and First Lady Launa Woodard McRae., one brother Michael (Maureen) McRae, five sons, Willie McRae,III, Jordan McRae, Victor McRae, Shane McRae, and Andre McRae. Three grandchildren Jaylon, Angel, and Launa, one niece Bianca and the love of his life, Michelle Dolman who cared for him until he took his last breath. Willie Jr.'s friends and family will also remain to cherish and honor his memory. Willie, we remember and honor you from sunrise to sunset with love. We were blessed to have you in our lives as a loving Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. We will truly miss you and forever hold you in our hearts. Love you so much and sleep in peace.
