Baxley Funeral Home announces the death, visitation, and funeral service of Mrs. Vascile Boyd Jordan of Glennville, Georgia who departed this life on Saturday, July 2nd, 2016 in Statesboro, Georgia. Visitation services for Mrs. Jordan will be Friday, July 8th from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in the chapel of Baxley Funeral Home. Funeral service Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 am Frist African Baptist Church on 154 N Comas St in Baxley, Georgia. Burial will follow in Glennville Memorial Gardens on Highway 301 N Glennville, Georgia.
The repast will take place at 2093 Jordan Street Glennville, Georgia.

Vascile (Boyd) Jordan, 63, departed this life on July 2, 2016. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Vascile was born to the late Willie & Lucy Boyd in Ludowici, GA on October 6, 1952. She graduated from Ludowici High School on May 13, 1972. On February 1, 1973, Vascile became the wife of Rev. Clarence L. Jordan, Jr. for whom she exemplified unconditional love and support. This union took place in Ludowici, GA by Rev. J. D. Babble. Through this union they created four children of which the last child preceded them in death at birth. She was a dedicated wife and mother of her family.

For more than 15 years Vascile was the secretary for Durable Medical Equipment. She was known for her craftiness and cooking. Family that came in town for the holidays knew to stop by for the best blueberry cheesecake in town! She was an inspiration to all, and will truly be missed.

Vascile is survived by her devoted and loving husband: Rev. Clarence L. Jordan, Jr.; her children, Stacy J. (Alala) Jordan, Reginald T. Jordan, Troy N. Jordan, all of Glennville, GA.; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: Willie James (Wynda) Boyd of Glennville, GA, Phillip (Donna) Boyd of Ludowici, GA, Brenda Smiley of Ludowici, Ga., Wanda Faye Boyd of Redisville, GA, Angela (Mose) Boyd of Sandford, NC, and Anna Kay Cummings of Walthourville, GA. She is preceded in death by one child;; her parents; her sister Mavis Roberts; her brothers RObert Boyd and Edward (Barbara Gene) Boyd, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
