Sonya Denise Ogden was born January 13th, 1963 in Buffalo, New York. She was the first born to her parents, Moses L. Ogden, Jr., and Ida Mae (Williams) Ogden.

She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and joined Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Sonya attended Kenmore East High School in Tonawanda, New York. After graduation she entered Buffalo State College in Buffalo, New York, where she continued to enjoy and exceed in the sports of track and field. Her love of reading and American literature led her to major in English literature.

When the family relocated to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1985; Sonya, being so devoted and caring of her parents moved with them to help with the care of her loving mother.

Her professional career was very exciting and gratifying. Sonya was employed by the Gilmore Enterprise Company where she held the position of Executive Assistant. She inspired and modeled an expensive line of clothing that was made just for her. She was employed by the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Corporation for many years.

She moved to Georgia and stayed by her mother’s side; she attended Fist Pleasant Hill Church until her illness.

Sonya leaves to cherish her memories: Her parents, Moses and Ida Mae Ogden of Baxley, GA.; a loving grandmother (Minnie Ogden) of Baxley, GA.; two brothers, Sheldon (Shawna) Ogden of Baxley, GA. and Terry Ogden of Kansas City, MO.; one beloved nephew, Terrance L. Ogden and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
