A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Pearl “Kitty” Spearman Turner

January 22, 1946 - July 7, 2015

The earthly journey of Ms. Pearl “Kitty” Spearman began January 22, 1946, in Lakeland, Georgia and came to a quiet closure on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Pavilion Nursing Center. Pearl was the 4th born child to the late Horace and Alma Thomas Spearmon. She was joined in holy matrimony to Edgar Turner.

Pearl received her education in the public schools of Mantee County and Appling County. She was baptized and was a member of Mizpah Baptist Church. Pearl worked at Cleat Mill in Baxley, Georgia and D. L. Lees Meats in Alma, Georgia. She was full of life. She spoke her mind and was a very strong willed person. Pearl was truly a jokester; always had a joke or something hilarious to say. Her favorite pastime was drinking a cold “canned” Pepsi Cola. She had a heart of gold and loved her family unconditionally.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edgar Turner, her parents Horace & Alma Spearmon, sister, Peggy Randall and brother, Thomas Spearmon.

Her loving memories will be cherished by her son, DeWayne (Erika) of Baxley, Georgia, two adorable granddaughters Nya and Lundynn; three grandsons Jarvis, Breyon, and Justin; brothers, Richard Spearmon of Alma, Georgia, her twin, Earl Spearmon of Bradenton, Florida, Billy “Gene” (Mary) Spearmon of Baxley, Georgia; sisters, Dora Spearmon and Margaret Cherry of Jesup, Georgia, Betty Newman of Richard, Virginia; Sisters-n-law, Addie Spearmon of Statesboro, Georgia, Lucille Baker and Lillie Moss of Ashville, Alabama, Margaret J. Spearmon of Jesup, Georgia; Brothers- in- law, Leewood (Dary Ann) Turner of Ashville, Alabama and Willis (Doris) Turner of Birmingham, Alabama; a friend for life, Mrs. Linda Ruth Williams of Ashville, Alabama. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing friends.
