Freddie J. King, Jr., age 54, died on August 13, 2017.
He was born October 26, 1962 to Maude King and the late Freddie King, Sr., both of Baxley. He was a member of Surrency Grove Church. He was a graduate of Appling County High School. He was joined in Holy Matrimony on March 9, 2000 to the late Sharon Thomas King.

Preceding him in death, his wife, Sharon Thomas King; father, Fred King; brothers, Larry Banks, Clarence King, and Charles King.

Survivors include mother, Maude King of Baxley; mother-in-law, Verdell Thomas of Surrency; children, Brian King (Frankeya) of Baxley, Roxanne King (Roc) of Jacksonville, Florida, La’Sharon Hayes Bently (Tony) of Baxley, Christopher Scott of Augusta, and Clarence Henry King of Baxley; sisters, Margie King (Jake) of Baxley, Cassandra King Henderson (Claude) of Jacksonville, Florida, Tabitha Salomon of Baxley, and Billy Jean (Neiko); brothers, Nathaniel Banks of Baxley, Lanis King (Brandy) of Baxley, Johnny King (Cherish) of Starke, Florida, Kendall King of Baxley, and Stanford King (Latasha) of Baxley. Twelve grandchildren, special niece Tonia Byrd, special friends Aaron Ryals, Jake Leggett, and Darius Paulk, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Church of God in Christ with Pastor Moses Eason serving as the eulogist and Anthony James presiding. Internment followed in the Surrency Grove Cemetery. Repast was held at the residence of Maude King. Active pallbearers were Demetrius Gibbs, Steven Bell, Darius Paulk, James Wright, Aaron Ryals, and Norris Peamsey. Honorary pallbearers were brothers and sisters. Musical selections were rendered by Tammy Richburg and Camletha Wright. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Baxley Funeral Home.
